W.Va. firm to announce location of cracker plant

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia may have lost out on Shell's multibillion-dollar chemical plant that was awarded to southwestern Pennsylvania, but the Mountain State could be in the running for a consolation prize.
CEO Len Dolhert of South Charleston-based Aither Chemicals tells The Charleston Gazette (http://bit.ly/wI6svd ) that an announcement is expected Wednesday on where it will locate a so-called cracker plant.

Dolhert says Aither has plans to build several such plants in Appalachia.

Shell will build a plant about 12 miles from the West Virginia border.

Dolhert says Aither would expect to get a similar tax break offered by the state to Shell. At Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's request, the Legislature passed a bill to slash property taxes for 25 years in exchange for an investment of at least $2 billion.

I know for a fact that most of West Virginia Legislation has fought hard to win this idea to lower taxs and create employment. However, not all Legislation agree we need to lower taxs and create employment. I believe the problem lies within the wrong leadership in West Virginia.

MEDIA ALERT
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OBAMACARE!
Projected Costs Now Total $1.76 Trillion

CHARLESTON, WV - Today is the two year anniversary of the signing of ObamaCare. A new report by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects the total cost of ObamaCare, between now and 2022, is $1.76 Trillion; substantially more than the previous estimate of $900 Billion.

"Sen. Joe Manchin voted against the repeal of ObamaCare, and Gov. Earl Ray still refuses to join the lawsuit against ObamaCare," said Chad Holland, Executive Director of the West Virginia Republican Party.  "At one point, Sen. Manchin was for ObamaCare, then, during a campaign, he was against it; however, as Senator, he was for it again when he refused to vote to repeal it, and now that he's back in campaign mode, I bet he'll find some pretty words to to try to convince us he's against it again."

"Under ObamaCare, West Virginia families will pay more for healthcare, an estimated 20 million Americans could lose their employer provided healthcare, and unaccountable government bureaucrats will make decisions that should be left to patients and their doctors. The people of West Virginia deserve better, and we all deserve leaders with the courage and strength to stand up and defend the people of West Virginia from the onslaught of the Obama Administration. As every day passes, it becomes clearer that Gov. Tomblin and Sen. Manchin are incapable of that type of leadership," concluded Holland.

Refer: DHHR-All Citizens are entitled to be respected by all State and Federal Agencies

Although I am not a huge fan of Human Services and feel strong that changes need to be made; I understand we are all required to pay taxes to support our State Agencies, however, our own tax paid State Employees have been proven to show a serious lack of respect to most in search of assistance by our tax paid State Agencies.
Recently, I was assisting an individual with his difficulties with receiving benefits he has earned over the years. In his day (respectively), retirement was not as common as it is today. The working class has the unlimited ability to choose how and where their retirement funds go. We are far more educated in today’s society as compared to the baby boomers.
I contacted Human Services of Charles Town. My first call was answered with an impatient individual, who said quickly, “Thanks for calling Department of Human Service, what do you need?” I stated back in a demanding tone, “First issue is, how about some respect.” The following conversation received direction to a Supervisor.
Regardless of the reason we call or stop by, respect is warranted; services are requested and possibly deserved. West Virginia tax payers well deserve a tremendous amount of respect other than what is being provided. Individuals and families are already in a position of depression or stress due to their economic situation. Senior and the Disabled have already contributed their time in society. Senior and the Disabled have not earned the dis-respect being provided. Our seniors and our Disabled might not have the ability to understand the system as it is today, however, we still deserve to be treated fairly. State Employees should not answer with disrespectful comments. We need to start now to make changes.
Help me make a change by contact West Virginia Legislation and making your voice heard. Yes, it will take time; however, we cannot get it started if we don’t act now.

HJR 113 is proposed to increase Personal Property Tax Credits (Homestead Exemption Act)  for Senior Citizens and the Disabled. Although this is a good gesture by our some Legislation, however, this only band-aids the real problem.  The real problem is our personal property tax as a whole. West Virginian's and our Legislation need to work together to eliminate personal property tax altogether.
Please contact your Delegate and/or Candidate for Delegate and offer your support to eliminate personal property tax.
