I was invited to attend a meeting with our area Republicans. Mainly, Senators, Magistrates, Department of Education Directors that are running for elections. Very interesting individuals. A couple of my close friends showed up, Eric Householder and Elliott Simon. Both looked great. Although Elliott Simon and I are opposing each other in the Republican race for District #67, we both highly respect each other. Elliott has promised to back me after I win the May 8th Primary. I look forward to his input. (much confidence in my campaign)
The meeting depended heavily on fund raising and donations to our campaigns. As most you already know, I am strictly opposed in running a campaign like other Candidates and fund raising. This is just to prove my opposition and theory that asking people in your district for money is not required to win this election.
My belief if very simple. People in society today are having a hard enough time making ends meet without having a Politician ask for their hard earned money. Look at this way, if Candidates are dedicated in asking for donations from the public, maybe the donation would come in easier if our taxs were lowered! If our people were not so over burdened with taxs, they might be more open minded to supporting a Candidates campaign.The only donation I need from my people is their trust, respect and honor within my position of Independent Republican.
Instead of supporting my campaign economically, support my campaign by voicing your ideas and desires by contacting your Incumbent and/or Candidate of our State issues.

House Bill 3159 is designed to require West Virginia Residents to make a Physicians appointment for a simple allergy problem resulting in West Virginia Residents to pay for the crimes of Convicted Criminals and their actions. House Bill 3159 should be designed to enforce Convicted Criminals of drug crimes to require a prescription for this medication not the Residents of West Virginia who suffer from the usual allergy. This bill releases most of the responsibility of Law Enforcement and places the headache on you and I. House Bill 3159 should be designed to increase steeper penalties on those individuals who commit the crime. House Bill 3159 is designed to take more money out of your pocket by requiring a prescription for simple over the counter mediation, "Sudafed", over a simple allergy problems which should not require a Physician's Prescription, because of a few drug abusers using Sudafed to manufacturer meth. All Pharmacies presently require a West Virginia photos ID to purchase Sudafed.Candidate Harris opposes this misdirected legislation and has encouraged concerned citizens to contact all legislators and also voice their opposition.

Sudafed Up!As most of us might already know, we are again looking at another avenue of someone trying to take more control over our lives and more money out of our pockets without our permission. "Sudafed Up", has come to my attention as many on the house floor in Charleston are trying to pass a bill to enforce stores and drug store to take Sudafed off the shelves in the Pharmacy section because of the abuse of a few.
Here is my arguement;
There are many of us who depend on this medication to cure and/or assist with eliminating our sinus problems. I have no problem showing my identification to purchase this medication in order to help reduce the amount of drug abusers using an ingredient in the medication to produce illegal drugs. Its quite obvious this medication was not created for the use of illegal drugs, however, where there is a will, there is a way. Charleston is trying to create a bill to take Sudafed out of our lives unless we see a Doctor and request a prescription. A $14 over-the-counter medication should not end up costing us $200 or more to see a doctor. The Government already agreed to move the medication from public access to requesting the medication by way of identification. Why do we need to move forward with having the Government taking on more control over our lives?
Here is my thoughts to a solution;
Hmmm, lets enforce our Law Enforcement to do their jobs. Yes, we should always support and defend our Law Enforcement as we do our American Soldiers. We expect our American Soldier to properly defend our freedom, we should expect our Law Enforcement to do the same with enforcing the law concerning drug abusers. Increase stiffer penalties on the abusers. Incarceration of drug abuser might not always be the answer, however, enforce economics out of their pockets to help create a humane and proper solution to the problem without punishing the taxpayers for the actions of drug abusers! Taxpayers should not be paying for the actions of drug abusers. We did not commit the crime. I for one have sinus issues. I depend on this medication to help me through the season and the bi-annual hay fever problem. Take as much Government out of an already problematic issues and create solutions to our problems instead of having taxpayers paying for the crimes economically.

You may also contact your Candidates who are running for State Office. You might not always know how to get your voice heard. Incumbents and Candidates do know how. Political Conversations-NonPartisan

Today, I had the opportunity of speaking with my Mentor and Friend Larry D. Kump. During our conversations, we discuss numerous intellectual topics. I will say, I learn a lot during these conversations with Mr. Kump. Below is my understanding. Thank you Larry D. Kump.
Within my 2012 present campaign, I represent myself as an Independent Republican.
As an Independent Republican, I cannot place stability or foundation based understanding in either the Democrats or Republicans. Representing myself as either a Democrat or Republican to the people of West Virginia is just a plain lie. As I have dictated in the past, I agree and disagree with both sides. Stipulating this fact, how can I chose? Understand, I have the greatest respect for both parties and the individuals that represent themselves to their respective parties. Within my district, there is another individual who is running against me as a Republican. We are friends and I find him extremely intellectual and I hold the highest respect for him and his intellect.
However, he and I do not agree on numerous topics. Obviously, he has the obligation to stand for his beliefs and so do I.
For this reason, I cannot run as either party. The State of West Virginia requires me to pick a party. I chose the closest determining political party that comes the closest to understanding me and my theories. I still agree and disagree with both sides. So, I chose to run my campaign as an Independent Republican which inturn, gives the highest respect to the voters in my district. Republican for the State as they mandate.
Upon winning the election as Delegate in November 2012 (Positive Thinking), I am determined to bring my non-partisan voting practices to the house floor. Voting non-partisan is the correct way to bring the voices of my people to the house floor. It's quite obvious, District #67 has both Democrats and Republicans residing. Being strict Republican or Democrat ignores the prospects of those in my District of the opposite party. When I take my Oath of Office, I will promise to perform my job I will be elected to do to the best of my ability. Of course, I will take my Oath of Office seriously, however, besides the fact of honoring my word, it's good practice to faithfully execute my position as Delegate by honoring both parties within my district and West Virginia.

Harris Announces Run for West Virginia House of Delegates
I am announcing my candidacy as delegate to the West Virginia House of Delegates, District #67. I am not confident with the current incumbent. I believe West Virginians deserve better representation. I have been and will continue to be involved with many activities that will affect West Virginia. I am a proud resident of West Virginia and I intend on bringing a more solid voice to the Capital to make positive productive changes to many legislative policies. I am outspoken and directly honest. I believe in being accountable for my actions. I would like to see the power of the vote become more powerful. I am not interested in the e-commerce statements I have been hearing about. I do not believe in increasing taxes as we are already taxed beyond belief during this hard time. Our people need a break to start rebuilding their lives and their expectation to our State Government. I believe the personal property tax needs to be eliminated. I believe our State budget needs to be re-established for better results and to be accountability to the people of West Virginia. We need to control our State’s spending of our tax dollars. We deserve the right to plan for our retirement, not hope for it. Intelligently planned and smart economics is the key to establishing better results for the citizens of West Virginia. West Virginia is the poorest state in the union and I propose to change this.
My goals as a delegate for District #67 include: increasing the salaries of our state employees, eliminating the personal property tax, protecting property rights, and eliminating the $100 million payday given to our casinos from our tax dollars. I do not agree with the internet sales tax idea that was raised a short time ago.
I plan to run my campaign with honesty and to stay on track with the interests and policies of West Virginia. I believe in the power of the vote and the people of West Virginia. It is my wish to make each politician in West Virginia accountable to our residents.
I reside in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. I own Construction Management Ind. L.L.C. with interests in numerous other activities that include construction projects in and around the area. I am a proud Veteran of the United States Army. I was an engineer in the boiler- making industry for 10 years. I have spent much of my time researching numerous incumbents and their policies. I find them puzzling and wonder why there hasn't been any achievement in their productivity. I strongly believe delegates need to be accountable for their actions to all the citizens of West Virginia.

I can honestly say, my view are very neutral between Democrats and Republicans. There are many view I cannot agree with both sides. Stating that I am committed to either side is not in my interest. My views are to serve public to the best of my abilities. I plan to vote strictly non-partisan in the Capital. I am interested in creating a more powerful voice of the people. We must strengthening our state budget and reduce spending. We should increase the amount of public meetings in my district to create more interest of the people by showing my interest in their opinion and concerns. It is unfortunate that at best, tem percent of those citizen in our district show interest in our abilities.
